Woman, 26, Found Fatally Stabbed on Manchester Street as Three People Are Arrested After Neighbors Report Hearing Screams
A quiet residential neighborhood in Manchester has been left shaken after a 26-year-old woman was found fatally stabbed in the street, prompting a murder investigation and the arrest of three people. The incident unfolded in Newton Heath during the early hours of Thursday, October 15, when residents reportedly heard disturbing screams and shouting outside their homes.
Police were called to Dorking Avenue at around 2 a.m. following reports of a disturbance. When officers arrived, they discovered Alisha Samuels suffering from serious injuries consistent with a stabbing. Despite the emergency response, she was pronounced dead at the scene. Her death has since become the focus of a major investigation by Greater Manchester Police.

Authorities have arrested three people in connection with the case. A 25-year-old man was detained on suspicion of murder, while a 61-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. All three remained in custody as investigators worked to establish exactly what happened and whether anyone else may have been involved. No further details about the suspects or their alleged roles have been publicly confirmed.
The violence has left nearby residents deeply unsettled. One witness told the Manchester Evening News they heard screaming and shouting between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. As the investigation unfolded, police cordoned off several nearby roads, including Staplehurst Road, Edmonton Road and part of Briscoe Lane. Forensic teams were seen examining the area as officers worked to gather evidence and piece together the events leading up to the woman’s death.

Reports from the neighborhood also described a damaged-looking white car near the scene, while residents spoke of a heavy police presence and restricted access to the streets. Investigators have not confirmed whether the vehicle is connected to the incident, and the circumstances surrounding the reported disturbance remain unclear.
Detective Inspector Paul Costello, from Greater Manchester Police’s Major Incident Team, expressed his condolences to Alisha’s loved ones, describing the incident as an awful and tragic attack. He said specialist officers were supporting the family and reassured the community that three people were in custody while detectives continued their inquiries. Police are also examining multiple locations connected to the investigation.
Alisha’s family has asked for privacy as they cope with what police described as the devastating loss of a loved one. Investigators are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or may have relevant mobile phone, CCTV or doorbell footage to come forward. As officers continue their work, many questions remain unanswered, including what led to the fatal attack and the precise circumstances surrounding the events on Dorking Avenue.
