9-Year-Old Boy Left Bloodied After Stranger Allegedly Attacks Him at School Bus Stop

A disturbing incident in Henrico County, Virginia, has left a community shaken after a 9-year-old boy was allegedly attacked by a woman while waiting for his school bus.

The incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. on October 16, 2026, at the intersection of Blue Stone Drive and Cool Lane, where students were waiting to be picked up for school. According to authorities, a woman approached the children and allegedly assaulted the young boy just as the bus was arriving.

A nearby resident reportedly rushed outside after hearing the child scream for help. The witness said he saw the woman punching the boy in the face, intervened to help him, and called 911.

Police found the child with visible facial injuries and arranged for him to receive medical treatment. His injuries were described as non-life-threatening.

Authorities identified the suspect as 47-year-old Marie Tulette Marsh of Henrico. She was arrested and charged with assault and battery and was being held without bond, according to local reports.

Joy Reed, principal of Ratcliffe Elementary School, described the incident as isolated. School counselors have been made available to support students affected by what happened, and school officials planned to visit the bus stop to reassure children and monitor the situation.

The investigation is ongoing, and the allegations against Marsh have not been proven in court.

No child should have to fear being attacked while simply waiting to go to school. The quick response of a nearby witness helped bring attention to the situation and get assistance for the injured boy.
