Oklahoma Mother Sentenced to 7 Consecutive Life Terms After 11-Year-Old Daughter Gives Birth to Stepfather’s Baby at Home

Authorities said the child endured sexual abuse, became pregnant at just 11 years old, and gave birth without prenatal care or medical assistance. Her mother was convicted of enabling the abuse and neglecting the children in her care.

A disturbing case in Oklahoma has ended with a mother being sentenced to spend the rest of her life behind bars. Cherie Walker, 34, received seven consecutive life sentences on October 30, 2026, after a Muskogee County judge imposed the maximum punishment recommended by the jury. Her convictions included one count of enabling child sexual abuse and six counts of child neglect.

The case first came to light in August 2025, when Walker’s 11-year-old daughter gave birth to a full-term baby inside the family’s home in Muskogee County. According to prosecutors, the child had received no prenatal care and had no medical assistance during childbirth. She was eventually taken to a hospital, prompting authorities to investigate the circumstances surrounding the pregnancy and the conditions in the household.

Investigators later determined that the baby’s father was the girl’s stepfather, Dustin Walker. DNA testing reportedly established a 99% probability that he was the biological father. Prosecutors said Cherie Walker knew her husband was sexually abusing her daughter but failed to protect the child or stop the abuse. Both adults had reportedly claimed they did not know the girl was pregnant.

The investigation also uncovered serious concerns about the living conditions and care provided to the children in the home. Prosecutors said the neglect charges involved six children who were under the couple’s care. They also raised concerns that the 11-year-old had been kept out of school for a period of time, potentially reducing the chances that teachers or other adults outside the home would notice signs of abuse or pregnancy.

The girl’s stepfather had already been sentenced in a separate proceeding. Dustin Walker pleaded guilty to sexually abusing a child under 12 and six counts of child neglect. He received a life sentence plus 42 years in prison, with the additional 42-year term to be served before the life sentence. He was also ordered to register as a sex offender and was prohibited from having contact with his victims.

Cherie Walker’s sentencing followed a jury verdict in July 2026, when jurors found her guilty on all seven counts and recommended life imprisonment for each conviction. The judge ultimately ordered the sentences to run consecutively, meaning they are served one after another rather than at the same time. The punishment reflects the seriousness of the crimes established in court and the failure to protect a child who depended on the adults in her home for safety.

The case has also drawn attention to the other children who were living in the household. Prosecutors described the situation as one involving prolonged neglect and inadequate care. The children were removed from the home as authorities investigated. The maternal grandmother, Michelle Justus, has also faced a child-neglect charge connected to allegations that she knew about the circumstances in the household and failed to intervene. Her case remains separate from the convictions against Cherie and Dustin Walker.

For the 11-year-old girl, the consequences of what happened cannot be measured by the sentences handed down in court. Prosecutors have described her as deeply traumatized by the abuse and by having to give birth without medical assistance. While the convictions have brought criminal accountability for the adults involved, the child will have to live with the effects of the experience long after the courtroom proceedings end.
