Ohio Mom Shoots Boyfriend in Front of Their Two Young Children, Then Tells 911: “I Shot Him Through the Head”

A 911 call revealed the chilling moments after a fatal shooting inside an Ohio home. The mother of two admitted she had shot her boyfriend, but also claimed she had been living through a night of threats and intimidation. Now, she faces multiple serious charges as investigators examine what happened.

Ashley Quinn Morgan, 41, was arrested after fatally shooting her boyfriend, Sean Thomas Reagan, also 41, at a home in Beavercreek, Greene County, Ohio. Police responded to the residence on South Alpha Bellbrook Road on October 24, 2026, after receiving a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found Reagan suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The couple’s two young children, ages 3 and 5, were inside the home when the shooting occurred, although police said neither child witnessed the gunfire.

Morgan was the person who called 911, and her statements to the dispatcher quickly became a central part of the investigation. She reportedly told the operator, “I just shot my significant other. He’s been threatening me all night.” When asked whether Reagan was breathing, she allegedly responded, “No, he’s dead … I just aimed, and I shot.” In another reported statement, she said she had shot him through the head. Her words confirmed that she had fired the weapon, but she also insisted that she had been afraid for her safety.

According to Morgan’s account during the emergency call, Reagan had refused to leave the house, threatened to kill both of them and behaved aggressively throughout the night. She reportedly described him as “deranged” and said he had broken items inside the home and taken possession of her cellphone. Morgan also told the dispatcher that both of them had firearms. She said Reagan’s gun was on the floor near him, while her own weapon had been underneath a blanket in the living room. Authorities have not publicly established whether the shooting occurred in self-defense, and the circumstances surrounding the confrontation remain under investigation.

The presence of the two young children made the incident even more troubling. During the 911 call, Morgan expressed fear about what might happen if the children came downstairs and saw the scene. Police later removed both children from the residence and placed them in the care of a family member. Authorities have not released further details about their emotional condition or whether they witnessed any part of the events leading up to the shooting.

Morgan was charged with two counts of murder, one count of voluntary manslaughter and one count of felonious assault. She was booked into the Greene County Jail and held on a bond reported at between $1 million and $1.5 million, with local reports differing on the amount. The combination of charges reflects the competing legal questions surrounding the shooting, including the circumstances of Reagan’s death and Morgan’s claim that she feared him. As the investigation continues, authorities will need to determine what happened inside the home before the fatal gunshot and whether the evidence supports her account of self-defense.

For now, two young children have lost their father and been separated from the home where the shooting occurred. Morgan’s statements to 911 provide an early account of the incident, but they do not settle the central question of whether the shooting was legally justified. That determination will depend on the evidence gathered by investigators and the proceedings that follow in court.
