90-Year-Old Woman Targeted in Terrifying Home Attack as 41-Year-Old Man Faces Multiple Charges
A 90-year-old woman is receiving specialist support after allegedly being subjected to a violent attack inside her own home in Heald Green, Stockport, England. The incident, which took place during the early hours of Thursday, October 29, 2026, has shocked the local community and prompted a major police investigation.

According to Greater Manchester Police, officers were responding to a concern-for-safety report at around 2:30 a.m. when they spotted the elderly woman’s vehicle being driven by a man. The driver allegedly refused to stop for police, fled from officers and eventually lost control of the car, crashing into a parked vehicle. A 41-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of burglary and serious assault.
The investigation subsequently led to the man being identified as Glen Williams, who has now been charged with robbery, assault, sexual assault by penetration and non-fatal strangulation. Police confirmed that Williams appeared before Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court on October 31 and was remanded in custody. He is scheduled to appear at Minshull Street Crown Court on December 4.

A 47-year-old woman was also arrested in connection with the investigation. She has since been released on bail while police continue their inquiries. Authorities have not publicly detailed her alleged role, and no conclusions about her involvement should be drawn at this stage.
The 90-year-old victim was taken to hospital following the incident. Police said her injuries were not life-threatening, and specialist officers are supporting her as she recovers from the traumatic experience. Detective Inspector Craig Turner described the incident as a targeted attack and reassured residents that investigators do not believe there is a wider threat to the community. Additional patrols have also been deployed in the area.
The case has raised fresh concerns about the safety of elderly people in their own homes. For the victim and those close to her, the priority now is her recovery as the legal process moves forward. Williams has been charged, not convicted, and the allegations will be examined in court. Police are continuing their investigation as the community waits for further developments.
