Police Hunt for Man After Dog Bites 2-Year-Old Girl in the Face at Village Pub

A family evening at a village pub turned into a frightening ordeal after a two-year-old girl was bitten in the face by a dog, leaving her needing hospital treatment. Now, police in Leicestershire are appealing for help identifying a man they believe could hold important information about the incident.

The incident happened at a pub on Church Lane in Muston, Leicestershire, between 7:30 p.m. and 7:50 p.m. on Friday, September 18, 2026. According to police, the young girl suffered facial injuries after being bitten by a dog. She was taken to hospital for treatment, although authorities have not publicly disclosed further details about the severity of her injuries or her recovery.

Following further inquiries, investigators released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak with. Police believe he may have information that could help establish exactly what happened inside or around the pub. Authorities have not identified him as a suspect or accused him of causing the girl’s injuries.

Leicestershire Police are now asking anyone who recognizes the man or has information about the incident to come forward. Members of the public can contact the force by calling 101 and quoting reference number 26*572323.

The appeal comes as investigators continue trying to piece together the circumstances surrounding the attack. Questions remain about the dog involved, its owner and what happened immediately before the child was bitten. Police have not released further details about those circumstances.

For the little girl and her family, what should have been an ordinary evening became an experience no parent would want their child to face. As officers continue their investigation, they are urging anyone with relevant information to help them establish what happened and identify the people who may have witnessed the incident.
