Parking Lot Dispute Turns Deadly at Youth Football Homecoming: 12-Year-Old Girl Killed in Shooting, Police Say
A mother had stopped by a youth football homecoming event to drop off a bottle for her baby son. Moments later, a dispute over a parking spot allegedly erupted into gunfire, leaving her 12-year-old daughter dead and four other people wounded.

A Family Visit Ends in Tragedy
What should have been an ordinary evening at a youth football event in Baltimore, Maryland, became a devastating scene of violence on October 3, 2026.
Twelve-year-old Khloe Ishway was attending the event with her mother and baby brother when shots rang out in the area of the 1200 block of North Franklintown Road at approximately 6:15 p.m., according to police.
Khloe’s mother had reportedly stopped by to drop off a bottle for the baby. Instead, she witnessed a shooting that would claim her daughter’s life.
Emergency responders rushed Khloe to a hospital, but she did not survive. Four other people were also shot and were reported to be in stable condition.
The violence reportedly began with a confrontation in a parking lot near the football fields. Investigators believe an argument involving two men escalated into gunfire, sending bullets toward the area where families and young people had gathered.
Police Identify a Suspect
Authorities identified 23-year-old Tyree Reynolds as the suspected shooter. According to a probable-cause affidavit cited by local media, Reynolds was standing in the parking lot when two men approached him and the group exchanged words.
The two men reportedly walked away. Investigators allege that Reynolds then pulled a short-barreled rifle from his backpack and opened fire.
The men allegedly returned fire, striking Reynolds in the ankle. Police believe Reynolds fired toward the football fields, where the victims were located, while the other men fired in the opposite direction.
Investigators used surveillance footage to help identify Reynolds, according to reports. He was taken into custody after being released from the hospital.
Police say Reynolds acknowledged being at the scene but denied firing a weapon. Investigators also alleged that he provided inaccurate information about his clothing.
These claims are part of the allegations against him and have not been proven in court.
A Recent Release From Prison
The case has drawn additional attention because Reynolds had reportedly been released from prison only days before the shooting.
Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services officials said Reynolds was released on September 25, 2026, after serving a five-year prison term stemming from a 2021 conviction involving assault and firearm charges. A judge had originally sentenced him to 15 years, with all but five years suspended.
Following the shooting, Reynolds was charged with 30 offenses, including murder, attempted murder, and assault, according to court records cited by local media. He was being held without bond at the Baltimore County Detention Center, with his next court date scheduled for November 4.
“Who’s Going to Call My Phone?”
For Khloe’s family, the legal case is only one part of an unimaginable loss.
Her grandmother, Donna Reese, described the shooting as senseless and especially heartbreaking because it happened at an event intended for children and families.
Reese remembered Khloe as a loving daughter and big sister who enjoyed helping around the house. She also recalled that Khloe called her every day after school or work to check in.
“Now, who’s going to call my phone? My phone won’t ring anymore,” Reese said, reflecting on the calls she would no longer receive.
Her words capture the personal cost of a shooting that reached far beyond the initial confrontation in the parking lot.
An Investigation With Serious Questions Remaining
Investigators are continuing to piece together the events that led to the shooting, including the confrontation before the gunfire and the circumstances that placed several people in its path.
One question remains particularly painful: how did a dispute in a parking lot escalate into gunfire at a gathering filled with children and families?
Reynolds faces serious criminal allegations, but an arrest and criminal charges are not proof of guilt. The case will proceed through the courts as investigators and prosecutors work to establish what happened.
For Khloe’s family, however, the loss is already permanent. A brief stop at a youth football event became a tragedy that no family should have to endure.
