Biker, 28, Dies in Horror Crash With Tractor as Heartbroken Family Pay Tribute to ‘Gentle, Loving’ Son

A 28-year-old motorcyclist has tragically died following a collision with a tractor in North Devon, England, as his devastated family paid an emotional tribute to a young man they say was loved by everyone around him.

Kieran James Lerwill, from Bishops Nympton, died after his blue BMW S1000 motorbike was involved in a crash with a green John Deere tractor. The collision happened at approximately 4:55 p.m. on Sunday, October 4, on the B3227 at Nadder Lane, near South Molton.

Emergency services and specialist police officers were called to the scene following the collision. The road was closed for several hours while officers carried out initial investigations and worked to establish the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.

News of Kieran’s death has left his family and loved ones facing an unimaginable loss. In a heartfelt statement, they remembered him as a “gentle, loving son, grandson, brother, uncle, partner and friend,” reflecting the many roles he held in the lives of those closest to him.

The family also spoke of the profound emptiness his death has left behind. They said: “He is deeply loved and his loss has left a hole in our hearts that can never be filled.”

Expressing the depth of their grief, they added that words could not convey the sadness and despair they were experiencing. They asked for their privacy to be respected as they try to come to terms with the sudden loss of someone who meant so much to them.

Meanwhile, police are continuing their enquiries into the collision. Although officers have confirmed the vehicles involved and the location of the crash, further details about the circumstances leading up to the impact have not been publicly established.

Devon and Cornwall Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or may have information that could assist the investigation. Drivers who were travelling along the B3227 around the time of the collision are also being urged to check their dashcam footage, as even a brief recording could help investigators reconstruct what happened.

Anyone with relevant information is asked to contact Devon and Cornwall Police online or by calling 101, quoting reference 517 of October 4, 2026.

As the investigation continues, Kieran’s family are left mourning a life that ended far too soon. Their tribute paints a picture of a much-loved young man whose loss will be felt deeply by relatives, friends and everyone who knew him.
