Terrified Neighbors Flee as Gunfire Erupts During Horrific Family Mass Shooting That Killed Pregnant Mother, Her Children and Five Others
A quiet neighborhood in Erie, Pennsylvania, was plunged into terror when gunshots rang out during a devastating mass shooting that claimed the lives of eight people, including a pregnant young mother and her two small children. The suspected gunman, a 45-year-old grandfather, was also found dead inside the home after the October 9 tragedy, which has left an entire community struggling to understand how such devastating violence could unfold within a family.

Chilling footage captured the panic as people rushed away from the scene while gunfire echoed along Perry Street. Two women could be seen moving toward the commotion shortly before shots rang out. A scream of “Oh my God” followed, while children could be heard crying out in fear. The footage offered a glimpse into the confusion and terror experienced by those nearby as the deadly incident unfolded.
Among the victims was 24-year-old Angelina Stone, who was reportedly just days away from giving birth to her third child, a baby she had planned to name Kyrie. Her two young children, five-year-old Isiah and one-year-old Amari’anna, were also killed. The loss of the unborn baby brought the reported death toll to nine, including the suspected shooter.
Angelina’s mother, Michelle Stone, 44, and her two brothers, Matthew Stone Jr., 21, and Jonathan Stone, 19, were also among those killed. Two other women, Lora Roberts, 37, and family friend Twila Tanner, 51, reportedly died outside the home after arriving during the unfolding violence. Authorities said the gunman was related to seven of the eight victims who were killed by him.

According to police, officers responding to the scene discovered the two women outside before entering the residence. Inside, they found the bodies of the two young children on the first floor, followed by other victims in a stairwell. The suspected shooter was found dead upstairs from what authorities described as a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The motive behind the shooting remains unclear. Erie Police Chief Rick Lorah described the scene as the worst he had encountered in his career, emphasizing the extraordinary scale of the tragedy. Investigators have been examining evidence, including video and audio recordings, and plan to speak with relatives as they work to establish what led to the killings.
The victims’ loved ones have been left devastated, particularly by the deaths of Angelina and her children. Friends described her as a caring mother whose family had been looking forward to welcoming a new baby. The father of one of the children also spoke publicly about his grief, remembering the little girl he had lost and describing the pain of trying to remain strong for his surviving family.
In the days following the shooting, neighbors gathered for a candlelight vigil outside the home, leaving flowers, candles and stuffed animals in memory of those who died. Fundraising efforts were also launched to help relatives cover funeral expenses. As investigators continue searching for answers, the community is left mourning a family tragedy that has taken multiple generations and shattered the lives of those who knew the victims.
