The flyers featured Tony’s picture and described him as a shy, gray cat with green eyes who was wearing a tracker.

Rather than leaving Kaia to handle the stressful search alone, Lewis and her friends came together to help bring Tony home.

Photos showed the group walking through the neighborhood, posting flyers and supporting one another during the search.

The timing made the situation especially difficult. Just three days earlier, on September 20, Kaia’s 27-year-old brother, Presley, had passed away at a rehabilitation facility in Santa Monica, California.

With the family already dealing with a devastating loss, the disappearance of Tony added another source of worry.

Thankfully, Tony Was Found

There was a positive outcome the following day.

On September 24, a source confirmed to PEOPLE that Tony had been found after the missing-cat posters were distributed. His tracker had also been noted on the flyers.

The news brought relief after an anxious search during an already painful period for Kaia and her loved ones.

Presley’s Passing Left the Family Grieving

Presley was the son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber. He had spoken publicly about his struggles with addiction and mental health in the years before his passing.

Kaia had also discussed how her brother’s experiences affected their family, describing him as an “absolute teacher” because of his willingness to be open and honest about his struggles.

Authorities were investigating Presley’s passing as a suspected overdose, but the medical examiner deferred the official cause and manner of death pending additional testing.
