Stranded Above the Flood: Bodycam Captures Beagle’s Rooftop Rescue

ROOFTOP, FLOODED CITY — 2026-10-20, 13:31. Chest-mounted bodycam footage shows the moment a stranded beagle was lifted to safety from a rain-soaked rooftop ventilation unit, high above streets swallowed by floodwater.
The video opens on the small brown-and-white dog — long floppy ears plastered to its head, white muzzle and paws trembling — standing alone on the silver metal housing of an HVAC unit. Below, the city has all but disappeared: roads are brown rivers, cars crawl half-submerged, and towers fade into gray rain.
The rescuer, roped to the rooftop in a bright red waterproof jacket with silver reflective bands, black protective gloves and a climbing harness, moves in slowly. Both gloved hands extend toward the beagle. The dog lowers its head, blinks rainwater from its eyes, and looks from one hand to the other — deciding.
What follows is fifteen seconds of textbook rescue work. One hand slides beneath the beagle’s chest, the other supports its abdomen, and the dog is lifted clear of the metal unit, body kept level, paws paddling gently in the air. No sudden moves. No panic.
In the final seconds the rescuer draws the beagle close to the chest and turns toward a secure, level stretch of rooftop. The dog, soaked to the skin minutes earlier, goes still — then relaxes into the rescuer’s arms, the flooded skyline stretching out behind them.
Rain hammers the rooftop throughout, sirens wail faintly from the drowned streets below, and the bodycam timestamp ticks on — 13:31:04 to 13:31:18 — as one small life is carried out of the storm.
