Man, 53, Found Dead Inside Flat in Welsh Port Town as Police Arrest 33-Year-Old Suspect

Police have launched an investigation after a 53-year-old man was found dead inside a flat in Holyhead, a port town on the island of Anglesey in North Wales. A 33-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody as detectives work to establish what happened in the hours leading up to the discovery.

Emergency services were called to a property at Llys Watling on London Road at approximately 2:42 a.m. on Saturday, October 17, after the Welsh Ambulance Service alerted police. Despite efforts by emergency responders, the 53-year-old local man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The discovery prompted a police investigation, with officers remaining at the address while enquiries continued. Detectives are working to piece together the circumstances surrounding the man’s death and gather evidence that could help clarify the events that led to the incident.

A 33-year-old man was arrested in connection with the case on suspicion of murder. North Wales Police confirmed that the suspect remained in custody while detectives questioned him. Investigators were also granted additional time to continue questioning as they pursued their enquiries.

Detective Chief Inspector Richard Sidney said officers were continuing their work at the property and thanked members of the local community for their assistance. Police have not publicly disclosed further details about the relationship, if any, between the two men or the circumstances surrounding the death.

The investigation remains ongoing. An arrest on suspicion of murder does not mean the suspect has been found guilty, and police enquiries will continue as officers seek to establish the full facts of the case.
