Mom Accused of Killing Husband and 3-Year-Old Son at Great Wolf Lodge Allegedly Brought Knives From Home

What was supposed to be a special family vacation ended in tragedy at a popular Pennsylvania resort, where a 27-year-old mother is accused of killing her husband and their three-year-old son. New allegations from the woman’s family have raised further questions about whether the deaths may have been planned before the family arrived at the resort.

Metallica Rose Harrison is accused of fatally stabbing her husband, Charles “Chaz” Harrison, 36, and their young son inside their room at Great Wolf Lodge in the Pocono Mountains. The father and son were found dead on October 12, 2026, after police responded to a 911 call from Harrison, who reportedly told the dispatcher she needed help dying. She was found with injuries to her wrist and neck and was taken for medical treatment.

According to her stepmother, April Thetga, the knives investigators found at the scene may have been brought from the family’s home in Towanda, Pennsylvania. Thetga told Fox News Digital that she believed the alleged attack had been planned in advance. Investigators reportedly recovered two knives with teal-colored handles inside the hotel room, along with medication bottles and containers believed to contain blood. Resort staff reportedly confirmed that the knives were not the type supplied by the hotel. However, authorities have not officially established that the killings were premeditated.

The family had checked into the resort on September 21 and extended their stay beyond the original checkout date, turning what had been planned as an early Christmas treat for their son into a weeks-long getaway. Thetga also said Harrison had allegedly withdrawn money from her husband’s retirement account to help pay for the trip and other expenses, including a kitchen renovation. The financial decision reportedly seemed unusual to relatives, but it remains unclear exactly how the money was accessed or whether Charles knew about it.

Court documents and statements from relatives have also raised questions about the couple’s relationship. Family members reportedly described Harrison as controlling and claimed she had expressed resentment about motherhood. These accounts remain allegations provided by relatives, and investigators have not publicly confirmed a motive for the deaths.

Harrison has been charged with two counts of criminal homicide and remains in custody without bond as the investigation continues. The deaths have devastated the family, particularly those left grieving both Charles and the young child. Authorities are continuing to examine the evidence to establish what happened inside the hotel room and whether the killings were planned before the family’s vacation began.
