Nine Arrested After 19-Year-Old Father Found Dead at Home as Family Pay Heartbreaking Tribute

Nine people have now been arrested in connection with the death of a 19-year-old father whose family described him as a young man with the “kindest soul.” Bradley Whieldon was found dead at a property in Stoke-on-Trent, England, following a violent incident on October 9, 2026. Another young man, also in his late teens, was discovered seriously injured and taken to hospital.

The latest arrests include a 19-year-old man suspected of murder and attempted murder, along with an 18-year-old woman suspected of assisting an offender. Their arrests bring the total number of people detained in connection with the case to nine as detectives continue working to establish exactly what happened that night.

Earlier in the investigation, a 19-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy were arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. Both have since been released on bail while enquiries continue. Separately, a 17-year-old boy from Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, has been charged with one count of murder and one count of attempted murder. Because he is under 18, he cannot be named. He is due to appear at Stafford Crown Court on November 23.

As police pursue the investigation, Bradley’s family have shared an emotional tribute to the teenager, remembering him as someone whose presence brought happiness to those around him. They described his personality as bright and unforgettable, recalling his laughter, quick wit, dancing, singing and rapping. Their words paint a picture of a young man who brought energy and joy into his family home.

“Life will never, ever be the same without you,” the family said, expressing their grief over a future they believe was taken away too soon. They also spoke of Bradley’s potential and promised that his memory would live on among those who loved him.

The case remains under investigation, with police continuing to gather evidence and examine the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident. The second victim’s serious injuries have added another troubling dimension to the case, while the growing number of arrests highlights the scale of the ongoing enquiries. For Bradley’s loved ones, however, the investigation comes amid an immeasurable loss: the death of a young father whose life, they say, had so much left to offer.
