CHICAGO MOURNS 7-YEAR-OLD GIRL KILLED IN DAYLIGHT SIDEWALK ATTACK

Seven-year-old Edi Mari Hernandez Chacon was killed in a shocking attack while walking along a Chicago sidewalk with her older sister on October 3, 2026. Police said a woman approached the child near South Cottage Grove Avenue and stabbed her multiple times in the back. Edi was rushed to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
