A heartbreaking case in Fort Worth, Texas, has led to serious criminal charges against a 23-year-old mother and her 26-year-old boyfriend after a newborn baby girl was found dead inside a bag near a motel dumpster.

According to police and court documents, the infant was discovered on October 18 outside the Drummers Inn. Investigators reviewed surveillance footage and later identified Avia Cantrell as the baby’s mother.
