In a flooded suburban backyard, where muddy water had swallowed patio furniture and toys floated past a broken fence, a small golden retriever puppy was found standing alone on a collapsed trampoline.

Soaked by steady rain and unsteady on the wet trampoline mat, the puppy looked up with anxious but trusting eyes as a rescuer waded toward him through the floodwater.
