Pinned Beneath a Fallen Fence, a Soaked Wild Rabbit Waits for Two Gentle Hands

A small wild rabbit is safe after being found trapped beneath a collapsed wooden fence in a storm damaged garden, in bodycam footage that captures the quiet tension of the rescue from start to finish.
The rabbit, its brown and gray fur soaked and matted with mud, was crouched in a narrow pocket beneath a broken fence panel. Shattered terracotta flowerpots, spilled soil, wet boards, and damaged plants surrounded it, while rain continued to drip from the wood above.
The rescuer, wearing a purple waterproof jacket, black gloves, and a rescue harness, knelt in the mud and held the panel steady with one hand. With the other hand, the rescuer slowly reached toward the frightened animal, giving it time to adjust to the movement and the sound of the rain.
As the panel was lifted slightly higher, the rabbit blinked, twitched its nose, and shifted its front paws. It did not bolt. Instead, it waited, alert but still, as both hands carefully supported its chest and hindquarters and guided it clear of the debris.
Once free, the rabbit was lifted away from the broken pots and unstable wood and carried toward a sheltered, intact section of the garden. Held securely, it remained watchful, but calmer, its ears moving gently as the rain eased around it.
It was a small rescue, and a gentle one. In a garden left battered by the storm, one frightened rabbit found steady hands, a safe hold, and a way out.
