A FRIGHTENED TIGER CUB FOUND ALONE IN RIVER GRASS IS SAFE AFTER A GENTLE RIVERBANK RESCUE

A young tiger cub separated from its mother during flooding has been rescued after being found hiding in tall wet grass beside a river in India.

The cub was discovered crouched between reeds, exhausted and frightened, its orange coat damp and its large eyes fixed on the rescuer.

A wildlife rescuer approached slowly, speaking calmly and moving with care so the cub would not panic. Using a soft cream towel, the rescuer wrapped the cub gently, supporting its chest and hindquarters, before lifting it into a transport crate lined with the same towel.

Inside the crate, the cub settled quickly and began breathing calmly. Rescue workers say the cub will be kept warm and dry and monitored closely while it recovers from the ordeal.

The rescue is a reminder of how flooding can separate young wild animals from their mothers, and how patience and gentle handling can turn fear into safety in a matter of minutes.
