CHAD LOWE’S FAMILY HONORS DAUGHTER FIONA AS LOVED ONES RALLY AROUND THE FAMILY

The family of actor Chad Lowe continues to mourn the loss of his 13-year-old daughter, Fiona Lowe, as relatives, friends, teachers and members of her Los Angeles community come forward with tributes and offers of support.
Fiona died on September 29, 2026. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner later ruled her death a suicide, confirming that she was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Her family initially announced her passing in a statement shared with PEOPLE, describing Fiona as a loving, intelligent and creative young girl who had a deep passion for dance.
“She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents,” the family said, adding that Fiona had been “the light of our lives.” They also asked the public for prayers and privacy while sharing information about the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

HER SISTER MABEL SHARES A PERSONAL TRIBUTE
One of the most recent tributes came from Fiona’s older sister, 17-year-old Mabel Lowe.
Mabel shared a series of photographs and a video featuring memories of her younger sister, including images from Fiona’s childhood and a clip of the two sisters dancing together.
In her message, Mabel wrote that she wished Fiona’s “short time here was easier” and said she hoped her sister was at peace. She also promised to continue honoring Fiona and keeping her memory alive.
The post offered a glimpse into the close relationship between the sisters and came only days after the family publicly confirmed Fiona’s death.
Fiona was the middle of Chad Lowe and Kim Painter’s three daughters. Mabel is 17, while their youngest daughter, Nixie, is 10.

FIiona REMEMBERED THROUGH DANCE
Dance was one of the defining passions remembered by those who knew Fiona.
Her former dance teacher, Kendra Andrews, shared videos of Fiona rehearsing in a studio and wrote about the teenager’s enthusiasm and determination.
Andrews recalled seeing Fiona return to dance after the family lost its home in the 2025 Pacific Palisades fire. She described Fiona as arriving at the studio with a bright smile and warm personality and later praised the amount of effort she put into improving her performance.
The teacher’s tribute also expressed sympathy to Chad, Kim, Mabel and Nixie, emphasizing the impact Fiona had on the people around her.
A youth organization Fiona had attended, Widget Works, also posted photographs and videos remembering her time with the group.
The organization described Fiona as an important part of its community and said her creativity, personality and presence would continue to be remembered.

HER SCHOOL COMMUNITY IS ALSO PROVIDING SUPPORT
Fiona’s death has affected the wider Los Angeles school community, where counselors and wellness resources have been made available to students and staff.
According to Page Six, the school sent another message to parents at the beginning of the following week, acknowledging that many members of the community were processing a range of emotions.
The school said counseling and wellness support remained available and encouraged students, staff and families to look after one another as they continued through the difficult period.
People familiar with the family previously described Fiona as well-liked among her classmates and said she had many friends.

THE LOWE FAMILY HAS RECEIVED AN OUTPOURING OF SUPPORT
Friends and families from Fiona’s school community have reportedly reached out to Chad and Kim with offers of practical assistance, including meal trains and fundraising efforts.
Page Six reported that the family has chosen to keep that support within a small, private circle while asking for privacy during their grief.
The family has faced another major hardship in recent years.
In January 2025, the Lowe family lost their Pacific Palisades home in the devastating wildfires that swept through the Los Angeles area.
At the time, Chad publicly spoke about the impact the loss had on his daughters and praised their resilience as they dealt with the destruction of their home.
He described being their father as his greatest privilege and said helping them navigate the aftermath was his priority.

TRIBUTES HAVE COME FROM FAMILY AND FRIENDS
Fiona’s grandfather, Charles “Chuck” Lowe, was among the first relatives to publicly honor her after the family announced her death.
He shared a photograph of Fiona smiling while swimming and wrote a brief message remembering his granddaughter.
Chad’s former Bones co-star David Boreanaz also posted a tribute, offering condolences to Chad and Kim and remembering Fiona as a “beautiful soul.” Kim Painter responded to Boreanaz’s message with a message of appreciation.
More recently, Rob Lowe’s son, John Owen Lowe, shared a poem by Emily Dickinson about hope on social media following Fiona’s death. The post came as members of the extended Lowe family continued to gather around Chad, Kim and their daughters.
A FAMILY ASKING FOR PRIVACY
While tributes continue to appear online, Chad Lowe and Kim Painter have remained focused on their daughters and their immediate family.
Their original statement made clear that Fiona’s death has left the family devastated, while also asking the public to respect their privacy.
The family’s public comments have largely centered on remembering Fiona for who she was — a daughter and sister who was described as intelligent, creative, kind and passionate about dance — rather than discussing private circumstances surrounding her death.
As the Lowe family continues to grieve, Fiona’s sisters, teachers, friends and community members are keeping her memory alive through photographs, stories, videos and personal tributes.
