Driver Wanted in 10 Los Angeles Robberies Sought in Fatal Hit-and-Run That Killed Teen

Los Angeles police are searching for a woman suspected of fleeing a deadly hit-and-run that killed a 16-year-old boy and critically injured his younger sister. The suspect, identified as Raygine Glentasia Evans, is also wanted in connection with a series of robberies across the city. Investigators say the crash happened in South Los Angeles in September, leaving a family devastated and raising urgent questions about the driver’s actions after the collision.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the crash occurred around 9:30 p.m. on September 22, 2026, near the intersection of 60th Street and 10th Avenue in the Hyde Park neighborhood. Sixteen-year-old Hernan Martinez and his 13-year-old sister, Vicky Martinez, were crossing the street with their mother when they were struck by a blue Nissan Sentra. Police said the vehicle was traveling at more than 80 mph and had run a stop sign before hitting the siblings.

Hernan suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. His younger sister was critically injured and taken to a hospital, where she underwent surgery. Their mother was not struck by the vehicle. The tragedy unfolded in front of the family, turning an ordinary walk home into a devastating loss that relatives are still struggling to comprehend.

Investigators have described disturbing details about what happened immediately after the collision. According to police, the Nissan continued moving after striking the teenagers before crashing into parked vehicles. Detective Ryan Moreno said the driver appeared to swerve in an attempt to dislodge Hernan’s body from the vehicle. Authorities allege that the driver and a female passenger eventually abandoned the damaged car and fled on foot. The passenger has been identified as Joannae Shavon Rosby.

Police said surveillance footage showed the two women leaving the scene and later being picked up by another vehicle, described as a red Honda Accord. Investigators also reported that the driver and passenger removed belongings from the Nissan before leaving. Evans remains the focus of the search, and authorities are asking the public to provide any information that could help establish her whereabouts.

The investigation has also brought attention to Evans’ reported driving history. Police said she had previously received nine citations involving reckless driving and running stop signs. In addition, she is wanted in connection with 10 robberies in Los Angeles. These allegations have increased the urgency of the search, although the accusations remain separate from any charges that may be filed in connection with the fatal crash.

The Martinez family is now facing the loss of Hernan while supporting Vicky through her recovery. Their older brother, Eliseo Martinez, has spoken publicly about the family’s grief and described Hernan as a talented teenager who enjoyed baking and sewing. The family hopes investigators will locate the suspect and that those responsible will be held accountable. Community members have also called for greater pedestrian safety following the collision.

The LAPD has announced a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the fatal hit-and-run. Anyone with information about Evans’ whereabouts is urged to contact the department’s South Traffic Division or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers. As the search continues, Hernan’s family is left mourning a young life cut short and hoping that the investigation will bring answers and accountability.
