FATAL ROAD RAGE IN NEW JERSEY: WOMAN KILLED AFTER MINOR CRASH, DRIVER ACCUSED OF FLEEING THE SCENE

A minor traffic collision turned deadly in New Jersey after a woman was allegedly struck and run over by an SUV towing a U-Haul trailer. Prosecutors say the driver was intoxicated and had a suspended license.

The incident occurred around 5 p.m. on Monday, October 19, 2026, on Route 17 South in Paramus, New Jersey. According to investigators, 31-year-old Estuardo G. Rodriguez of Tarrytown, New York, was driving an Acura SUV towing a U-Haul trailer when his vehicle collided with a Buick carrying 31-year-old Krisiann Reyes Rivera of the Bronx.

Following the initial collision, Rivera reportedly exited the Buick and approached Rodriguez’s vehicle, striking one of its windows. As she returned toward her vehicle, prosecutors allege that Rodriguez accelerated, struck her and ran over her with the trailer’s rear tires.

Rivera was rushed to Hackensack University Medical Center, where she later died from her injuries.

Authorities say Rodriguez then drove away from the scene. Witnesses reportedly followed him and blocked his vehicle approximately half a mile away, helping police take him into custody.

Investigators allege that Rodriguez was driving under the influence of alcohol and with a suspended license at the time of the crash. He faces multiple charges, including death by auto and leaving the scene of a fatal accident.

The devastating incident has raised renewed concerns about road rage and the potentially catastrophic consequences of losing control during a traffic dispute. What began as a seemingly minor collision ended in the loss of a woman’s life, leaving her loved ones facing an unimaginable tragedy.

The case remains under investigation, and the allegations against Rodriguez will be addressed through the legal process.
