A small golden puppy has been rescued after being found stranded on a floating blue play mat inside a flooded school classroom, in bodycam footage recorded on the morning of October 22, 2024.

The chest-mounted camera, timestamped 08:17:14, shows a rescuer wading slowly through muddy floodwater that covers the classroom floor. Overturned blue chairs, scattered toys, picture books and small tables drift in the brown water, while a colorful alphabet poster still hangs on the wall above the floodline and rain streaks the large windows at the back of the room.

In the middle of the room, the soaked puppy lies flat on the bright blue mat, its wet golden fur clinging to its body, watching the rescuer approach with wide, frightened eyes. It does not try to swim or jump away. It simply waits, shivering lightly, as the water ripples around the edges of its small floating island.

The rescuer, wearing a teal waterproof jacket, black gloves and flood rescue gear with metal carabiners and straps, kneels in the water in front of the mat and extends both hands slowly, giving the puppy time to see and trust them. Only when the puppy stays calm do the gloved hands slide gently beneath its chest and body.

In the final moments of the continuous, uncut shot, the rescuer lifts the puppy just clear of the mat and draws it down low, holding it securely in both cupped hands close against the rescue harness. The flooded classroom, floating toys and overturned furniture remain visible in the background as the puppy settles, still wet and nervous, but safe in the rescuer’s hands.

No people were reported inside the classroom at the time of the rescue. The puppy’s condition after being brought out of the floodwater was not detailed in the footage.
