Piglet Stranded on Submerged Farm Machinery in a Flooded Barn Is Lifted to Safety

A small pink piglet was rescued from the top of a partially submerged metal farm machine inside a flooded livestock barn on Saturday morning, after heavy rain sent muddy water across the farmyard.

Chest-mounted bodycam footage recorded by the rescuer shows the piglet standing alone on the wet metal surface, its pale bristles soaked and streaked with mud, surrounded by brown floodwater. Stacked hay bales, metal fencing, floating plastic buckets and a large tractor wheel are visible around the barn as rain continues to fall.

In the footage, the rescuer wades slowly through the muddy water and extends both gloved hands toward the animal. The piglet watches nervously, shifting one small hoof on the slippery metal. The rescuer slides one hand beneath its chest and the other beneath its hindquarters, lifting it clear as muddy water drips from its body and it gives a soft squeal.

The piglet is then drawn down and held securely low against the rescuer’s chest, where it gradually quiets, resting its head against his blue waterproof jacket while the flooded machine and barn remain in view behind them.

The entire rescue was captured in a single continuous bodycam shot lasting 15 seconds. No music or narration accompanies the recording — only heavy rain on the metal roof, splashing floodwater, distant barn creaks, rattling farm equipment and the piglet’s soft squeals.

The piglet’s condition after the rescue was not immediately reported, but it appeared calm and uninjured as it was held securely above the floodwater.
