She Took His Photo With a Tiger Just Moments Before He Climbed Into the Enclosure

A seemingly ordinary moment at a wildlife park in England turned into a tragedy just moments after a young visitor asked a stranger to take his picture with a tiger in the background. What happened next left witnesses shocked and raised questions about the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.

According to The Sun, the man, believed to be in his early 20s, approached visitor Del Taylor while she was watching a five-year-old Siberian tiger named Altai at Yorkshire Wildlife Park in Doncaster on Saturday, October 10, 2026.

Taylor was visiting the park with her boyfriend when the man asked her to take a photograph of him with the animal behind him. She agreed, using his phone to capture the moment. In footage recorded by her boyfriend, the young man could reportedly be heard enthusiastically asking for another picture before thanking her.

At the time, there appeared to be little indication of what was about to happen.

Taylor later recalled that the man had been dancing near the viewing area before approaching her. She said he appeared to be alone. After the photographs were taken, she and her boyfriend moved on. Moments later, the situation took a devastating turn.

A Sudden Move Into the Tiger’s Enclosure

Witness accounts reported by The Sun indicate that the man climbed over a viewing barrier approximately one meter high and dropped into the tiger’s enclosure. He landed on the grass just a short distance from Altai.

The situation quickly escalated. Footage described in the report captured the man shouting in alarm as the tiger moved around him and attacked. Park staff and emergency responders were called to the scene, while rangers reportedly fired warning shots to distract the animal and help bring the situation under control.

Despite the emergency response and efforts to save him, the man died at the scene.

Visitors were evacuated from the park as emergency services attended. The incident left witnesses shaken, particularly those who had seen the young man shortly before he entered the enclosure.

Police Investigate as Questions Remain

South Yorkshire Police confirmed that officers were called at approximately 1:35 p.m. on Saturday after reports that a man had entered the tiger enclosure. Authorities said the animal attacked him, causing serious injuries, and confirmed that he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man’s family was notified and received support from specialist officers. Police also appealed to the public not to circulate footage of the incident online.

Meanwhile, Yorkshire Wildlife Park expressed sympathy for the man’s family and confirmed that Altai was safe and unharmed. The park also stated that the tiger would not be euthanized following the incident.

The circumstances that led the man to cross the barrier remain a central part of the investigation. Witness accounts have described his behavior shortly beforehand, but those observations alone do not establish why he entered the enclosure.

For Del Taylor, a brief encounter that began with a simple request for a photograph became part of a deeply distressing event. The images she took just moments earlier now stand as a reminder of how quickly an ordinary visit can turn into an unimaginable tragedy.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident, while the man’s loved ones face the devastating loss of a family member.
