Stranded on a Submerged Motorbike in a Flooded Alley, a Tiny Puppy Waits for Two Gentle Hands

In a severely flooded urban alley, where muddy water had swallowed the street and rain continued to pour, a tiny brown and white puppy was found stranded on the wet seat of a partially submerged black motorbike.

Soaked, shivering, and alone, the little puppy crouched on the slippery seat as floodwater surrounded it on every side. Other motorbikes stood half sunk nearby, debris floated past, and there was nowhere safe left for the frightened animal to run.

A rescuer in a bright yellow waterproof flood rescue jacket slowly waded through the muddy water toward the motorbike. Moving carefully so as not to startle the puppy, the rescuer placed one gloved hand beside it, then gently extended the other toward its chest.

The puppy blinked, lowered its ears, and cautiously moved closer. Moments later, both hands slid gently underneath its body, supporting its chest, belly, and hindquarters, and lifted it safely from the wet seat.

Held securely against the rescuer’s yellow jacket, the puppy began to calm as it was carried toward a nearby elevated building entrance above the floodwater. Behind them, the flooded alley remained, but the little puppy was finally safe, warm, and no longer alone.
