Subway Staircase Rescue: Bodycam Captures Rescuer Lifting Soaked Puppy From Flooded Entrance

BODYCAM 2024-11-05 07:18:24 — Chest-cam footage shows a rescuer in a dark navy waterproof jacket, thick black protective gloves and a safety harness with metal carabiners descending a flooded underground subway entrance during a severe early-morning rainstorm.
A small brown-and-white puppy — floppy brown ears, a white stripe down its forehead, round dark eyes, fur soaked and streaked with mud — is stranded on the concrete steps, churning rainwater rushing down the staircase behind it. The frightened puppy clings to the rescuer’s black-gloved left arm and looks straight into the camera with innocent, pleading eyes.
The rescuer steadies the trembling puppy, slides the right hand gently beneath its chest, and — using both hands — lifts it completely clear of the moving water. Its wet paws dangle, droplets falling from its muddy fur, as the rescuer steps upward toward the street.
At the safer upper landing, the puppy is held close against the waterproof jacket, resting its muddy front paws on the rescuer’s arm, calm and looking steadily toward the camera. The flooded subway entrance — glowing underground lights, swirling floodwater and fallen leaves — remains visible behind them.
