Tiny Black-and-White Kitten Rescued From Rocky Crevice on Rain-Soaked Forest Hillside

A tiny black-and-white kitten was rescued from a narrow rocky crevice on a rain-soaked forest hillside on the morning of November 12, after heavy rainfall sent muddy water streaming over the moss-covered stones where it had taken shelter.
Bodycam footage recorded by the rescuer shows the small kitten crouched inside the dark crevice, its wet black fur plastered flat, its white muzzle, chest and front paws stark against the stone. Water dripped steadily from the rocky overhang above it, and its wide eyes never left the rescuer as gloved hands moved slowly into frame.
The rescuer, wearing a bright orange waterproof jacket splashed with mud, thick black gloves and a climbing harness hung with silver carabiners, crouched in the muddy runoff below the crevice and kept one hand on the rock for balance while reaching gently toward the kitten with the other. The kitten blinked, shifted its white front paws slightly, but did not try to run.
Moving slowly so as not to frighten it, the rescuer slid both hands around the kitten, supporting its chest and body, and lifted it carefully clear of the stone. Droplets fell from its soaked fur as it was drawn down and held securely against the rescuer’s harness, blinking softly, out of the dripping crevice and above the flowing muddy water.
The kitten appeared cold and frightened but unharmed, and was held safely in both hands to be carried to sheltered, stable ground away from the stream, where it could be warmed, dried and checked over.
