Tiny Orange Kitten Rescued From Luggage Trolley in Flooded Airport Baggage Hall

A tiny orange tabby kitten has been rescued after it was found stranded on a luggage trolley inside a flooded airport baggage-claim hall, as heavy rain lashed the terminal windows and water spread across the floor around the baggage carousels.

Bodycam footage recorded on 21 October 2024 at 07:36 shows a responder in a red waterproof jacket wading through the murky water toward the trolley, where the soaked kitten was crouching on the wet metal platform. Its golden orange fur was drenched and spiked, its small paws gripping the metal, and its large amber eyes stayed fixed on the rescuer as he approached.

With floodwater rippling beneath the trolley and suitcases floating nearby, the rescuer slowly reached out both gloved hands. The kitten turned its head, blinked, and let out a soft meow before allowing itself to be lifted, supported carefully beneath its chest and hindquarters.

The kitten was then held low and secure in both hands, safe above the water, while the flooded hall, scattered luggage, and a passenger aircraft visible through the rain streaked glass remained in view behind it.

No further details about the kitten were immediately available, but it appeared alert throughout the rescue and was safely in the responder’s hands by the end of the footage.
