🤠 FALLING FOR THE OUTLAW

PART 1: THE MAN EVERYONE WANTED DEAD

I fell in love with a man everyone in town wanted dead.

He was handsome, mysterious, and dangerously charming. His name was William Hayes, and according to the sheriff, he was the most wanted outlaw in the entire West.

But when I first met him, I had no idea he was a criminal.

My name is Charlotte Miller. I was 23 years old when I arrived in the dusty little town of Black Creek, hoping to start a new life after my father’s death.

I found work at a small saloon, serving drinks to cowboys, ranchers, and travelers passing through town.

Most nights were quiet, filled with country music, whiskey, and the occasional drunken argument.

Until one evening, a stranger walked through the swinging doors.

He wore a black cowboy hat, a dusty leather coat, and a gun strapped to his waist. His dark hair fell across his forehead, and his sharp eyes seemed to notice everything around him.

He sat at the far end of the bar.

“Whiskey,” he said quietly.

I poured him a glass.

“Long day?”

He glanced at me and gave a faint smile.

“Long enough to make a man forget his own name.”

I laughed.

“Then I hope the whiskey helps.”

For the next few evenings, he kept coming back. He never talked much, but whenever he did, I found myself wanting to hear more.

His name was William.

He told me he had no family, no permanent home, and no reason to stay in one place for too long.

Yet somehow, he always found a reason to return to my saloon.

One night, as I was closing the doors, I noticed him standing outside under the moonlight.

“You’re still here?” I asked.

“Waiting for you.”

My heart skipped a beat.

“Why?”

He stepped closer.

“Because I don’t like the idea of you walking home alone.”

I tried to hide my smile.

“You don’t even know me.”

He looked into my eyes.

“Maybe I’d like to.”

For a moment, neither of us spoke.

Then he gently took my hand.

And for the first time in months, I felt something I thought I had lost forever.

Hope.

But our little moment was suddenly interrupted by the sound of horses approaching.

Several armed men rushed into the street.

“Nobody move!” the sheriff shouted.

He held up a wanted poster.

“William Hayes! You’re under arrest for murder, robbery, and the killing of three innocent men!”

My blood turned cold.

I slowly looked at William.

He didn’t run.

He didn’t even look surprised.

Instead, he stepped in front of me, shielding me from the sheriff’s men.

“Charlotte,” he whispered, “whatever they tell you, don’t believe everything you hear.”

The sheriff raised his gun.

“Step away from that outlaw, girl! He’s a murderer!”

I stared at the man I had slowly fallen in love with.

“William… is it true?”

His eyes met mine.

For the first time, I saw fear in them.

Not fear of being arrested.

Fear of losing me.

Then he said something that changed everything.

“Charlotte, I didn’t kill those men. But I know who did.”

He paused, looking directly at the sheriff.

“And the man standing behind you is the one who ordered it.”

The sheriff’s face suddenly went pale.

❤️ Would you trust William if the whole town called him a murderer? Or would you believe the sheriff?
