70-Year-Old Florida Man Allegedly Rolls Trash Bin Carrying Murder Victim’s Body Down the Street Before Fleeing on Moped

A disturbing discovery in Miami, Florida, has led to the arrest of a 70-year-old man accused of helping conceal the body of a shooting victim inside a garbage bin and transporting it down the street. Danny Barbee is facing charges after surveillance footage allegedly showed him wearing a high-visibility shirt while pushing the container before escaping on a moped. The case has raised serious questions about what happened inside a nearby home and who was responsible for the victim’s fatal shooting.

Miami police officers responded at approximately 11 p.m. on Sunday, November 1, after a passerby reported finding a body inside a garbage can near Northwest 14th Avenue and Northwest 59th Street. According to the arrest affidavit, the person who discovered the remains had first been alerted by four people riding bicycles, who told him there was a dead person inside the container. When he looked inside and saw the body, he immediately contacted authorities. The victim was found lying face down in a folded position, wearing only boxer shorts and a T-shirt, with gunshot wounds to his face.

Investigators reviewed nearby surveillance footage and reportedly saw a man in a high-visibility shirt rolling the trash bin along the street before leaving the area on a moped. Police later identified that individual as Barbee. Their investigation led them to a residence in the 1400 block of Northwest 59th Street, where officers discovered blood droplets outside the property. After obtaining a search warrant, detectives entered the home and found a shell casing and what appeared to be blood spatter on the living room ceiling. Investigators also noted that the bedroom appeared to have been wiped down, possibly in an attempt to remove evidence.

During questioning, Barbee reportedly gave police an account of the events that led to the discovery. He said he had visited the home to see a woman he knew as “Gang Gang.” While there, an unidentified man allegedly arrived looking for the victim, who was in the bedroom. Barbee claimed the two men began arguing before the unidentified visitor shot the victim once. According to Barbee’s statement, the same man then placed the victim inside the garbage bin while he was still alive, put a pillow over him and fired two additional shots into the container.

Barbee further told investigators that the woman asked him to remove the body, and he agreed to move the bin away from the residence. Police have not publicly confirmed whether his account is accurate or established the identity of the alleged shooter. The victim’s name has also not been released. These unanswered questions remain central to the investigation, particularly because authorities have yet to determine the full sequence of events inside the home.

Barbee was arrested and booked into the Miami-Dade County Jail, where he is being held on a $15,000 bond. He faces charges of abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence. As of the latest report, authorities had not announced a court date or identified anyone as the suspected shooter. Investigators continue working to establish exactly how the victim was killed, who fired the fatal shots and what role each person at the residence may have played in the events that followed.
