YouTuber EDP445 Arrested on Four Felony Charges Involving a 13-Year-Old Girl After On-Camera Admission to Chris Hansen

Former YouTube personality Bryant Moreland, widely known online as EDP445, has been arrested in Las Vegas and charged with four felony offenses connected to allegations involving a child under 14. The 35-year-old was taken into custody on November 4, 2026, following an investigation by California authorities. The arrest came months after Moreland appeared in a documentary and spoke with former To Catch a Predator host Chris Hansen, making statements about his past interactions with underage girls that prosecutors say helped revive a case that had stalled years earlier.

According to the Kern County District Attorney’s Office, the charges stem from an alleged incident on April 17, 2021, involving a 13-year-old girl. Moreland faces counts of attempting to commit lewd acts upon a child, meeting a minor for lewd purposes, contacting a minor with the intent to commit a sexual offense, and distributing or showing pornography to a minor. Authorities said the case was initially reviewed in 2021 and 2022, but prosecutors encountered significant obstacles because the reporting parties did not cooperate. At that time, the investigation did not result in criminal charges.

The case returned to the spotlight after Moreland appeared in The Sick Mind of EDP445, a documentary released in August 2026. During an interview with Chris Hansen, Moreland discussed the earlier controversy and acknowledged that he had engaged in sexually explicit communications with underage girls. He also admitted that he understood the conduct was illegal. In one particularly significant statement, he described knowing that what he was doing was “highly illegal” and should not have happened. Prosecutors later said the documentary contained new statements that prompted the Kern County District Attorney’s Office and Sheriff’s Office to reopen their investigation.

The original 2021 incident became widely known online after a civilian-run group called Predator Poachers confronted Moreland in Bakersfield, California. The group had arranged a sting operation using an adult decoy posing as a 13-year-old girl. Moreland allegedly believed he was communicating with a minor and traveled to the location intending to meet her. The encounter was filmed and circulated widely, turning him into the subject of intense online criticism. However, the earlier investigation did not lead to charges, and the new criminal case is based on evidence reviewed by prosecutors, including Moreland’s later statements in the documentary.

Moreland once attracted millions of viewers through videos about the Philadelphia Eagles, sports commentary, gaming and other online content. His internet reputation changed dramatically after the 2021 confrontation, and his YouTube channels were eventually removed. The documentary offered a renewed look at the controversy, but it also brought the legal consequences back into focus. Prosecutors said their review of the new material met the evidentiary threshold required to file charges, leading to Moreland’s arrest in Nevada.

Moreland is expected to be extradited to Kern County, California, where he will face the charges in court. As of the latest reports, it was not clear whether he had entered a plea or retained an attorney. The investigation remains ongoing. His arrest marks a major development in a case that had remained unresolved for more than five years, but the charges are allegations, not convictions. Moreland is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
