Florida Man Accused of Stabbing His Mother 30 Times, Then Sending a Photo of Her Body to the Family Group Chat

A Florida man is accused of killing his own mother in a brutal stabbing and then sending a photograph of her body to their family group chat, telling relatives that she was dead. Investigators say the 28-year-old later admitted that he had killed her because he was tired of her “bothering” him. The disturbing case has left relatives searching for answers as the accused man faces a first-degree murder charge.

Manuel Farfan-Cabello is charged with first-degree murder in the death of his 58-year-old mother, Ylda Cabello-Ynocente. According to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office and an arrest affidavit cited by Law&Crime, deputies responded to a home in the 5300 block of Northwest 28th Street in Tamarac, Florida, at approximately 7:45 p.m. on Friday, October 9, 2026, following a report of a stabbing.

Authorities say Farfan-Cabello himself called 911 and reported that he had killed his mother. During the call, he allegedly told investigators that he had stabbed her about four hours earlier. He also reportedly said he had thrown the knife used in the attack into a nearby pond. Deputies arrived at the residence and took him into custody before entering the home to investigate.

Inside, officers reportedly discovered a substantial amount of blood throughout the living room and kitchen. Cabello-Ynocente was found unresponsive, and deputies described her body as stiff and cold to the touch. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators also noted a trail of blood leading from the residence toward a neighbor’s porch. Surveillance footage from the neighboring property reportedly showed Farfan-Cabello ringing the doorbell earlier that evening.

The alleged messages sent to relatives added another disturbing dimension to the investigation. According to the affidavit, family members received a call from a relative in Peru who warned them that something terrible had happened at the victim’s home. Farfan-Cabello allegedly used his mother’s phone to send a message to the family group chat in Spanish stating that she was dead. When relatives asked him to provide a photograph as proof, he allegedly sent them an image showing his mother lying on the ground in a pool of blood.

Farfan-Cabello also allegedly sent a message asking relatives to forgive him, claiming that God had told him to commit the act. During a separate phone conversation with a family member, he reportedly said that he had killed his mother because he was tired of her and felt she was bothering him too much. He allegedly added that he was “here with God.” Investigators said he also discussed plans to burn his mother’s body, but relatives urged him to contact authorities instead.

Family members told investigators that Farfan-Cabello had been diagnosed with schizophrenia and other mental health conditions. In comments to local NBC affiliate WTVJ, relatives reportedly described years of struggles and episodes of hallucination. These accounts may become relevant as the legal proceedings move forward, although a reported mental health diagnosis does not by itself establish what happened or determine criminal responsibility.

Farfan-Cabello remains in the Broward County Jail without bond. A judge appointed a public defender and ordered that he undergo a mental health evaluation. The investigation and court proceedings will determine the full circumstances surrounding Cabello-Ynocente’s death and the evidence against her son. For the family, the loss is compounded by the disturbing way they reportedly learned of her death — through a message and photograph shared in a family chat.
