CCTV Appeal After Woman Allegedly Throws Drink Bottle at Teen Girl Before Punching Her Four Times

Police in Gloucester, England, have released CCTV images of a woman they want to identify after a 15-year-old girl was allegedly attacked in the city centre. The incident, which reportedly began with a confrontation over the teenager looking in the direction of two women, escalated into a physical assault that left the girl shaken. Although she did not suffer serious physical injuries, the incident has prompted a renewed appeal for witnesses and anyone who may recognize the woman captured in the footage.

According to Gloucestershire Constabulary, the incident took place at around 2:20 p.m. on September 3 in Kings Square. The teenager was sitting in the square when two women and a man left the nearby Regal pub on St. Aldgate Street. Police said the girl was watching the women as they filmed themselves on a mobile phone when one of them allegedly told her to stop looking at them.

What happened next quickly turned confrontational. Investigators allege that one of the women threw a hard plastic ball-shaped container holding a drink at the teenager, striking her in the face. The woman then reportedly walked away, leaving the girl in the square. But the encounter was not over. A few minutes later, the same woman allegedly returned, approached the teenager, grabbed her by the hair and punched her in the head four times.

The attack reportedly happened in a public area, where CCTV operators were able to observe the incident. Officers searched the surrounding area with assistance from the CCTV team, but the woman could not be found. Police have since released an image of a person they believe may be able to help with their inquiries and are asking the public to come forward with information.

The teenager was not seriously injured, but police said she was left distressed and shaken by the experience. The circumstances surrounding the confrontation remain under investigation, and officers have not publicly established why the woman allegedly reacted so aggressively. Authorities are seeking to identify the suspect so they can investigate the incident further and establish a clearer account of what happened.

The woman police wish to speak to is described as white and in her mid-twenties, with long, dark brown hair featuring blonde highlights. At the time of the incident, she was reportedly wearing a cropped black hooded top with the word “Juicy” printed on the back, light blue skinny jeans and white trainers. Police also noted that the man accompanying the group was pushing a pram.

Investigators are urging anyone who recognizes the woman, witnessed the confrontation or has relevant information to contact Gloucestershire Constabulary. Even a seemingly minor detail could help officers establish the woman’s identity and move the inquiry forward. Anyone providing information should quote reference number 53260076274.

The appeal highlights how an apparently brief disagreement in a public place can escalate into a frightening experience, particularly for a young person. For the teenager involved, the physical injuries may not have been serious, but the incident left her shaken. Police hope the release of the CCTV image will encourage someone who knows the woman to come forward and help them determine exactly what happened that afternoon.
