The Smallest Miracle in the Tulip Fields: Rescuer Lifts Shivering Rabbit From Flooded Ditch

Bodycam footage captured the moment on the morning of April 28, 2024, at 09:33.

Rain had been hammering the flower farm for hours. The drainage ditches between the tulip rows, usually a trickle of irrigation runoff, had swollen into fast-moving muddy channels. And on the slippery edge of one of them — crouched low, ears up, fur plastered to her small body — was a white rabbit, stranded and running out of ground.

The rescue was caught on the chest-mounted bodycam of a worker wearing a teal-blue waterproof jacket and heavy black protective gloves. The footage shows the rescuer approaching slowly, hands open and low, giving the frightened animal no reason to bolt toward the rushing water.

For several seconds the gloved hands simply rest against the rabbit — supporting her chest, abdomen and hindquarters — while her ears twitch and her nose works, reading the situation. Then, in one slow, controlled movement, the rescuer lifts her clear of the muddy bank, her hind legs fully supported as water droplets fall from her soaked white fur.

The final stretch of the clip is the one that lands hardest: the rabbit is carried to a dry grassy patch and gently lowered onto a soft orange rescue towel, the colorful tulip rows stretching behind her. Calm. Upright ears. Looking straight into the camera — safe.

No music. No narration. Just rushing water, falling rain, and fifteen quiet seconds of someone doing exactly the right thing at exactly the right time.
