Great Wolf Lodge Case Takes New Turn as Police Seize Knives, Journals and Laptop From Family Home
Investigators investigating the deaths of a Pennsylvania father and his 3-year-old son at Great Wolf Lodge have searched the family’s home and seized knives, journals, financial records and electronic devices as they work to establish what led to the tragedy.

Metallica Rose Harrison, 27, has been charged with two counts of criminal homicide following the deaths of her husband, Charles Harrison, and their young son at the resort in the Pocono Mountains on October 12, 2026. She remains accused, and the charges have not been proven in court.
According to search-warrant documents reported by local news outlets, investigators searched the family’s home in Towanda, Pennsylvania, and seized approximately 10 teal-handled knives, teal-handled scissors, two journals, financial records, a financial notebook, a laptop, a safe and several sealed envelopes addressed to the couple. Police had previously recovered two teal-handled knives from the family’s resort room. Great Wolf Lodge employees reportedly told investigators that the knives were not used by the resort.
Authorities are examining whether the items recovered from the home could provide further evidence. However, officials have not publicly disclosed the contents of the journals, envelopes or laptop, and the presence of similar knives does not by itself establish which weapon was used in the killings.
The search also raised questions about the family’s circumstances before the incident. Records indicate the family checked into Great Wolf Lodge on September 21 and extended their reservation through October 13. Investigators reportedly found an electricity shutoff notice at the family’s home and learned that a lawn-care worker had not seen the residents for about a month. These details are part of the investigation, but authorities have not established that they explain the deaths or provide a motive.
Police were called to the resort on October 12 after Harrison reportedly contacted 911 and said she needed help dying. Officers found Charles and the child dead inside the guest room, while Harrison had injuries to her wrist and neck and was taken to a hospital. Investigators said both victims had suffered fatal stab wounds. Harrison later declined to answer detectives’ questions.
Harrison remains in custody as the criminal case proceeds. Investigators continue to review physical evidence, records and other materials collected during the searches. The contents of the seized items and any conclusions drawn from forensic testing have not been fully disclosed publicly.
The deaths have devastated the family and drawn widespread attention. For now, key questions about the circumstances and motive remain unanswered, and the allegations against Harrison must be resolved through the court process.
