More Than 180 Children Escape Injury After Agricultural Plane Smashes Into Brazilian Daycare

Terrifying surveillance footage captured the moment a small agricultural aircraft crashed into a daycare building in Brazil, leaving a trail of destruction while more than 180 young children were inside the facility.

What could have become a heartbreaking tragedy ended with an extraordinary outcome: no children, teachers, or daycare employees were injured.

The frightening incident occurred on October 23 at the Cora Coralina daycare center in Campo Verde, in Brazil’s Mato Grosso state. The facility serves approximately 180 children between the ages of 1 and 5.

Surveillance Footage Captures the Terrifying Impact

Video footage shows the aircraft striking the daycare building and breaking through part of the structure, sending debris and dust into the affected room.

The sudden impact left extensive damage inside the space, turning an ordinary school day into a frightening emergency. Images of the crash have since drawn attention to how narrowly the incident avoided a much worse outcome.

According to local reports, the aircraft also struck the roof of a nearby health clinic before reaching the daycare building.

Remarkably, the room directly hit by the aircraft was not being used by the children at the time. Children were in neighboring classrooms, where they remained unharmed.

Teachers Quickly Evacuate the Children

As the situation unfolded, daycare staff moved the children out of the building and into safety.

The children were subsequently reunited with their families. Officials confirmed that no students, teachers, or other daycare employees suffered injuries in the crash.

The fact that the aircraft struck an unused area of the building was especially significant. With so many young children at the facility, a direct impact on an occupied classroom could have produced a far more devastating outcome.

For parents, the confirmation that every child was safe brought enormous relief after an incident that could easily have ended differently.

Pilot Injured as Authorities Investigate

The 28-year-old pilot was the only person reported injured in the accident. Emergency crews found him conscious and provided medical assistance before transporting him to a hospital.

The aircraft was a single-engine agricultural plane used for crop spraying. Local authorities said it was not carrying agricultural chemicals when it crashed.

The crash occurred approximately 400 meters from the runway. Investigators are working to establish what caused the aircraft to go down and strike the buildings.

Emergency personnel also took precautions after detecting a fuel leak, helping reduce the risk of a fire at the scene.

A Frightening Accident With a Remarkable Outcome

The crash has raised serious questions about aviation safety and the potential risks when aircraft operate near buildings used by children and other members of the public.

Despite the damage, the most important outcome remains unchanged: all the children and daycare staff escaped without injuries.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident. Until the investigation is complete, the precise cause of the crash remains unknown.

For the families whose children were inside the daycare that day, the news that everyone made it out safely was an enormous relief after a terrifying incident.
