Dad and Two Young Children Found Dead in Suspected Murder-Suicide as Security Camera Captures Man Pacing Outside Home
A Florida community has been left devastated after a father and his two young children were found dead inside a family home in what police believe was a murder-suicide. The discovery came hours after a neighbor reportedly heard gunshots and surveillance footage captured a man leaving the house and pacing outside in the darkness. As investigators work to establish exactly what happened, the children’s mother is facing the unimaginable loss of both her young children.

The victims were identified as Joseph Dingwall, 37, and his children, Remy Dingwall, 7, and Aria Dingwall, 5. Their bodies were discovered on October 7, 2026, at a home on Sorrento Drive in Cocoa, Florida. According to the Cocoa Police Department, the children’s mother, Olivia Piccolo, went to the property after being unable to reach the family and learning that the children had missed school. When she arrived, she found the door partly open and discovered the bodies inside before calling 911.
Police said preliminary evidence indicated that Joseph was responsible for the children’s deaths before taking his own life. However, detectives have continued investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragedy, including what may have led up to the shootings. Authorities have not publicly established a motive, and they are examining all available evidence to reconstruct the events inside the home.

In the hours before the bodies were discovered, a neighbor reportedly heard two loud noises around midnight that sounded like gunshots. Surveillance footage from a nearby property later showed a man leaving the house, moving around the driveway and pacing outside before returning indoors. At one point, the man appeared to move out of sight as a vehicle passed. Investigators have not definitively confirmed that the individual seen in the footage was Joseph, although the recording has become an important part of the public account of the incident.
As news of the deaths spread, relatives and loved ones shared emotional tributes to the two children. Remy was remembered as a kind, intelligent boy who loved video games, music and spending time with friends. Family members said he excelled in school and was especially protective of his younger sister and mother. Aria was described as a bright, courageous and compassionate little girl who loved animals and the color pink. Their family said the siblings were best friends who shared a special bond and should have had the opportunity to grow up together.
Fundraising campaigns have been established to help Olivia and the family cope with funeral expenses and the aftermath of the tragedy. Meanwhile, Cocoa police continue to investigate the deaths and have said they want to establish the full circumstances before drawing further conclusions. For the people who knew the family, the loss of two young children has been particularly painful. Remy and Aria’s lives were only beginning, and their loved ones are now left grieving a future the siblings will never get to experience.
