Fired Home Depot Worker Accused of Ambushing Former Co-Worker in Brutal Bus Station Stabbing

A workplace dispute allegedly turned into a violent confrontation at a Pittsburgh bus station. Now, a 19-year-old man is facing attempted homicide charges — and investigators say the attack was not the first serious incident linked to him in recent weeks.

A former Home Depot employee has been arrested after allegedly stabbing a former co-worker multiple times during a confrontation near a bus station in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Delvin Dobbins, 19, was arrested on Sunday, October 4, and charged with attempted criminal homicide and aggravated assault. He is being held at the Allegheny County Jail without bond, according to reports.

The alleged attack took place on October 1 near the East Liberty bus station. Investigators say the confrontation involved a dispute over a female co-worker from the Home Depot store where the two men had previously worked.

A Dispute That Allegedly Turned Violent

According to a criminal complaint cited by local media, witnesses reported seeing Dobbins and the victim fighting near the bus station.

The argument allegedly escalated, and Dobbins is accused of stabbing the other man multiple times before fleeing the scene.

Police said the two men had previously worked together at Home Depot, but Dobbins was reportedly fired after allegedly making threats against the victim.

The complaint also described a disturbing threat Dobbins allegedly made against his former colleague, saying he would “fold” him “like an armadillo.”

Authorities have not publicly established every detail of what led to the confrontation, but investigators believe the dispute over a female co-worker was a factor.

Police Find Suspect at a Wendy’s Restaurant

After the stabbing, investigators continued searching for Dobbins. Police eventually located him at a Wendy’s restaurant, where he was arrested.

The case took on added significance when local media reported that Dobbins had been released on bail following a separate alleged stabbing just days earlier.

That earlier incident reportedly occurred on September 23. According to police accounts cited by local news outlets, officers found Dobbins walking with a bloody knife. He was charged with aggravated assault and released on nonmonetary bail.

Reports also state that he was released from custody on the same day as the October 1 incident.

The allegations in the separate cases remain subject to the legal process.

Earlier Incidents Raise Further Questions

Court documents and local reporting describe other recent incidents involving Dobbins.

On September 4, he was accused of breaking into the home of a former foster parent who reportedly had a restraining order against him. He was charged with criminal trespassing and released on nonmonetary bail.

The criminal complaint in the latest case reportedly cited the previous incidents as part of the argument that Dobbins posed a risk to the alleged victim and the wider community.

Dobbins had also been arrested in 2024, when he was 16, in connection with a burglary. Later that year, he was accused of shooting a convenience store clerk in the chest while the clerk was taking out the trash. The available reports do not establish the final disposition of that earlier case.

These separate allegations have drawn attention to the decisions surrounding his previous releases from custody.

What Happens Next?

Dobbins is facing charges of attempted criminal homicide and aggravated assault in connection with the alleged bus station stabbing. He is scheduled to appear in court on October 15, 2026.

The case has prompted renewed questions about how authorities assess the risks posed by people accused of repeated violent offenses while awaiting trial.

However, the allegations must still be addressed through the courts, and an arrest or criminal charge is not proof of guilt.

The victim’s condition has not been fully detailed in the reports, and investigators have not publicly released a complete account of the confrontation.

A dispute between former co-workers allegedly escalated into a stabbing in broad daylight. Now, with several recent cases under scrutiny, the central question is whether earlier warning signs could have prevented another violent incident.
