Yuleidy Ixcotoyac reportedly collapsed while travelling in a car with her father, Abraham Ixcotoyac, who was taking her to a medical center. Her father, an evangelical pastor, said he checked her pulse and breathing but could detect neither. Convinced that his daughter had died, he stopped the journey without obtaining confirmation from a doctor, according to reports cited by The Sun.

With the family believing Yuleidy was gone, preparations for her funeral began. Later that day, relatives and mourners gathered around her coffin at the family home in El Jocote. They were expecting to say their final goodbyes to the teenager, unaware that the gathering was about to take a shocking turn.

Yuleidy’s mother, Lesvia Ríos, reportedly noticed movement as she leaned over the coffin to grieve. She insisted that her daughter was still alive, and the family opened the coffin to check.
