Two More Men Charged With Murder in Disappearance of Pennsylvania Man
Luke Foxx, 21, and Josiah Vaux, 23, face second-degree murder and kidnapping charges as the investigation into Michael Petrino Jr.’s disappearance expands to eight people.

Two additional men have been arrested and charged in connection with the disappearance of a 23-year-old Pennsylvania man who investigators believe was kidnapped and killed earlier this year.

Luke Foxx, 21, and Josiah Vaux, 23, were taken into custody on October 22, 2026, by the Reading Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service. Both face charges of second-degree murder, kidnapping and related offenses in the case of Michael Petrino Jr.

Petrino was reported missing by his family in late March. His whereabouts remain unknown, and authorities have not announced the recovery of his body.

Investigators Describe Alleged Abduction
According to Reading police, investigators determined that Petrino was lured to the area of North Second and Oley streets in Reading during the early morning hours of March 25.

Police allege that three individuals — Jayden Santiago, Jayden Edwards and Amir Frazier — were traveling in a Jeep Compass rented by Petrino and helped bring him to the location.

Surveillance footage reportedly showed the Jeep entering an alley. Investigators said Santiago exited the vehicle while using his cellphone, then provided a signal indicating the Jeep had arrived.

A tan Chevrolet sedan entered the alley shortly afterward and parked directly beside the Jeep, according to police.

Investigators believe Petrino was assaulted, forcibly removed from the Jeep and placed inside the Chevrolet before being driven away.

Police later found the rented Jeep abandoned in the 1200 block of Muhlenberg Street in Reading. Investigators also allege that Santiago, Edwards and Frazier subsequently abandoned the vehicle and destroyed Petrino’s cellphone.

Police Allege Victim Was Taken to a Secluded Location
As the investigation continued, authorities examined digital evidence and communications involving several individuals.

Police said Santiago, Edwards and Frazier were participating in a group chat with Gerson Caicedo, Khalil Nein and Jazmeire Brockington. Investigators allege that the group’s communications helped establish how the incident unfolded.

According to police, Caicedo, Nein and Brockington later traveled to a secluded location, where they met Foxx and Vaux.

Investigators allege that Foxx and Vaux were armed with firearms when they bound Petrino, placed him in their vehicle and drove away.

The latest arrests followed a seven-month investigation involving surveillance footage, digital evidence and information gathered from multiple sources.

Authorities have also said they received information suggesting Petrino had ongoing disputes with several people in the Berks County area and that a bounty had allegedly been placed on him. The claim remains part of the investigation described by police.

Eight People Now Face Charges
With the arrests of Foxx and Vaux, a total of eight people have been charged in connection with the case.

Six individuals were previously charged in June, including three juveniles charged as adults and Caicedo, Nein and Brockington. Their previously announced charges included kidnapping, conspiracy and other related offenses.

The latest charges mark a significant development in the effort to determine what happened to Petrino, but investigators have not publicly confirmed his fate.

Family Still Awaits Answers
Petrino’s family reported him missing from western Lebanon County in late March. Investigators subsequently learned that he had been spending time in the Reading area before he disappeared, prompting Reading police to take the lead in the case.

Authorities continue to seek information that could help locate Petrino and establish the full circumstances of his disappearance.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Reading Police Department at 610-655-6116. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Crime Alert Berks County at 1-877-373-9913.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
