Thomas Markle Jr. Vows Never to Speak to Father Again Amid Investigation Into Alleged Child Abuse Images

Thomas Markle Jr. says he will only speak to his father, Thomas Markle Sr., again if required to testify, after reporting an alleged discovery of child sexual abuse material to authorities.

Thomas Markle Jr., the half-brother of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, says he has decided to cut off contact with his father after allegedly discovering disturbing images and videos among his belongings in Cebu, Philippines.

According to The Sun, Thomas Jr., 60, was searching through four storage boxes for a mobile phone when he reportedly came across material depicting children in sexual situations. He said the discovery horrified him and prompted him to contact law enforcement.

“I won’t speak to my father ever again unless I’m called to give evidence against him,” Thomas Jr. said, according to the newspaper.

Authorities Investigating the Allegations
Thomas Jr. reportedly contacted the FBI, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and Pennsylvania state police on July 10. He later sought help from an IT expert to examine three hard drives, which allegedly revealed additional material.

Philippine authorities have launched an investigation involving agencies focused on human trafficking and the protection of women and children. Thomas Jr. has reportedly agreed to surrender the boxes for forensic examination.

The FBI has acknowledged receiving a sworn statement, and potential links to alleged offenses involving the United States may also be examined.

No charges have been reported in connection with the allegations, which have not been established in court.

Thomas Markle Sr. Denies the Accusations
Thomas Markle Sr., 82, has denied the allegations, describing them as “sick lies,” according to reports. He is currently living in a nursing and rehabilitation facility in Florida after serious health problems, including a stroke and the amputation of his left leg.

The allegations have also drawn a public response from Meghan, who said she was deeply distressed by the reports. She explained that her decision to remain estranged from her father and to prevent contact with her children was intended to protect them.

Meghan also revealed that she had received information about troubling allegations concerning her father in 2018 and had been assured that authorities were investigating them.

As the investigation continues, the allegations remain under scrutiny, and the authorities have yet to announce any criminal charges.
