🤠 MY RIVAL, MY VALENTINE

Part 1 – The Two Cowboys Who Couldn’t Stand Each Other!

In the wild little town of Silver Creek, there were two things everyone knew.

First, the town had the best horses in Texas.

Second, Jake Miller and Cole Anderson hated each other more than a rattlesnake hates a pair of boots!

Jake was charming, handsome, and always convinced he was the best cowboy in town.

Cole was equally handsome, stubborn, and unfortunately just as talented.

For five years, they had competed in everything.

Horse races? Jake won by half a second.

Rodeo competitions? Cole took first place.

Poker nights? They accused each other of cheating.

Even at the saloon, they argued over who had the better cowboy hat!

One afternoon, Jake walked into the saloon wearing his brand-new black hat.

Cole looked up from his whiskey and laughed.

“Nice hat, partner. Did you steal it from a funeral director?”

Jake smirked.

“At least I don’t look like I got dressed in the dark.”

The entire saloon burst into laughter.

Cole stood up.

“Say that again!”

Jake leaned closer.

“Gladly. You. Look. Ridiculous.”

Before things could get worse, the town sheriff slammed his hand on the table.

“ENOUGH! You two are giving me headaches!”

Both cowboys turned around.

The sheriff had some unexpected news.

The annual Silver Creek Valentine’s Festival was just three days away, and the town desperately needed someone to organize the celebration.

Unfortunately, the sheriff had already made his decision.

“You two will work together.”

Jake nearly dropped his drink.

“WHAT?”

Cole shook his head.

“Absolutely not!”

The sheriff smiled.

“Wonderful. I love your enthusiasm.”

Then he handed them a list of responsibilities.

Decorations, music, food, dancing, and one very important event: the Valentine’s Couple Contest.

Jake frowned.

“Wait a minute. Who’s supposed to be the couple?”

The sheriff grinned.

“You two.”

Silence.

Then both cowboys shouted at exactly the same time:

“OVER MY DEAD BODY!”

But the sheriff wasn’t finished.

“If you refuse, I’ll give the grand prize money to the rival town of Dusty Hill.”

That changed everything.

The prize was $5,000!

Jake looked at Cole.

Cole looked at Jake.

Neither wanted to lose.

Finally, Jake sighed.

“Fine. But I’m leading this operation.”

Cole laughed.

“In your dreams, pretty boy.”

The next morning, they began preparing for the festival.

It was an absolute disaster.

Jake wanted pink ribbons everywhere.

Cole wanted whiskey barrels and country music.

Jake ordered romantic roses.

Cole accidentally bought twenty-five pounds of potatoes.

Jake stared at the delivery.

“WHAT ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DO WITH ALL THESE POTATOES?”

Cole shrugged.

“Make French fries. Women love French fries.”

Jake covered his face.

“I can’t believe I’m working with you.”

Later that afternoon, the sheriff returned with another surprise.

He announced that the festival committee had changed the rules.

Every contestant had to arrive at the Valentine’s Ball with a romantic partner.

And because Jake and Cole were organizing the event, they had to demonstrate the opening dance together.

Jake stared at Cole.

Cole stared at Jake.

“You’re kidding,” Jake whispered.

“Unfortunately, no,” the sheriff replied.

That evening, the two cowboys reluctantly met at the dance hall to practice.

Jake placed one hand on Cole’s shoulder.

Cole immediately stepped back.

“Watch it, Romeo!”

“Relax! I’m trying to teach you how to dance.”

“I know how to dance!”

“Then why are you standing on my boot?”

Cole looked down.

Jake was right.

For the next thirty minutes, they stepped on each other’s feet, knocked over chairs, and nearly destroyed the entire dance hall.

But just when they thought things couldn’t get any worse, the saloon doors suddenly opened.

A beautiful woman walked inside.

She looked at the two cowboys dancing awkwardly together and burst into laughter.

“Well, well, well… Silver Creek’s two biggest rivals dancing like an old married couple?”

Jake quickly stepped away.

“We’re not a couple!”

Cole crossed his arms.

“Not even in your wildest dreams!”

The woman smiled mysteriously.

“That’s a shame. Because I was just about to offer one of you a date.”

Both cowboys immediately straightened their hats.

Jake smiled.

“Well, sweetheart, I’m available.”

Cole pushed him aside.

“Get in line, partner.”

She laughed and pulled a folded piece of paper from her purse.

“Actually, I have a little proposition for you both.”

She placed the paper on the table.

It read:

THE WINNER GETS MY HEART. THE LOSER LEAVES TOWN.

Jake and Cole looked at each other in shock.

Then the woman smiled and whispered:

“Oh, and one more thing… I already know which one of you is going to fall in love with me.”
