17-YEAR-OLD RUGBY PLAYER ATTACKED WHILE PLAYING FORTNITE — WOMAN ACCUSED OF HELPING THREE MEN ESCAPE
A normal evening playing Fortnite with friends turned into a tragedy when 17-year-old rugby player Tristan Kerr was allegedly confronted inside a friend’s home by a group of people who prosecutors say arrived armed and ready for violence.

Tristan was at the house in Abertridwr, Wales, on February 5 when three men allegedly entered the property. Within moments, prosecutors say, the teenager was attacked and fatally injured. The entire incident was said to have lasted less than two minutes.
Four people are now on trial in connection with Tristan’s death: Connor Palfrey, Georgie Mears, Ricardo Elliot and Elexi Manny. Prosecutors allege Manny drove the others to and from the property, while Mears and Palfrey were allegedly carrying weapons when they entered. All four defendants deny the murder charge.
According to the prosecution, Mears allegedly rushed into the living room carrying a large knife and confronted Tristan. Palfrey allegedly followed him while holding a wooden stick, while Elliot and Manny were said to have played roles in the wider operation.
The court heard that Tristan tried to defend himself before managing to escape from the house with his friend Connor Davies. But outside, the teenager’s condition rapidly deteriorated.
Tristan reportedly told his friend that he was hurting before giving him a heartbreaking final message: “I love you bro, you’re a good ‘un.” He then collapsed and could not be revived.

What happened next has become another key part of the prosecution’s case.
Prosecutors allege that the four defendants left the property together and drove away in the same car, with Manny allegedly behind the wheel. They claim the group had arrived together and left together shortly after the attack.
But perhaps the biggest unanswered question remains the reason they went to the house in the first place.
The prosecution has told jurors that the motive remains unclear, although evidence presented in court has included allegations concerning drug dealing and disputes involving debts. Prosecutors say whatever the reason was, the attack itself was “immediate and purposeful.”
For Tristan’s family and friends, however, the case is about much more than what happened during those few minutes. His family previously described him as “strong, brave and full of warmth,” remembering him as someone who brought laughter and energy into the lives of the people around him.
Now, a jury must determine exactly what happened inside that house — and what role each defendant allegedly played before, during and after the attack.
Why did the group go to Tristan’s friend’s home that evening? Was he specifically targeted, or was something else behind the confrontation? And what happened during those few minutes before the group allegedly fled?
