‘Just Kill Me, Get It Over With’: Woman Recounts Horrific Birthday Attack by Boyfriend Who Held a Knife to Her Throat

What was supposed to be a weekend celebrating her 24th birthday turned into a terrifying ordeal that left Kyesha Le fearing she would never make it home alive. She says her boyfriend, Connor Vicary, subjected her to hours of violence, strangled her until she lost consciousness and held a knife against her throat while threatening to kill her and anyone who tried to help. Now, after Vicary has been sentenced to prison, Kyesha is speaking publicly about her experience and warning others about the dangers of abusive relationships.

The couple met on Facebook in October 2025. At first, Kyesha says, Vicary appeared charming and caring, promising to look after her after she confided in him about a previous abusive relationship. But she describes how his behavior soon changed. He allegedly began insulting her, checking her phone and making threats when she tried to end the relationship. She says she became frightened and felt pressured into giving him another chance. What followed, according to her account, was an increasingly controlling relationship marked by intimidation and physical attacks.

One earlier incident reportedly began after the couple had taken a bath together. Kyesha says Vicary suddenly became angry, accused her of cheating and attacked her, grabbing her head and smashing it against a door frame. She describes being dragged around the house and pinned down before his mother eventually intervened. Despite the violence, she says Vicary later acted affectionate, leaving her confused and feeling trapped in a cycle of fear and reconciliation.

The most frightening episode happened during a trip to celebrate her 24th birthday. Kyesha says Vicary became violent after she complained that he was spending time playing video games with friends. She alleges that he pulled out her hair extensions, repeatedly struck her head against furniture and left her in pain. Over the following days, she says she tried to escape more than once, even attempting to flag down a passing vehicle, but no one stopped. On the morning of her birthday, another argument reportedly erupted after she spoke to a friend on the phone. Kyesha says Vicary kicked her, slammed her head against a wall, covered her mouth and strangled her until she lost consciousness. When she came around, she says he was holding a large knife against her throat and threatening to kill both her and anyone who came to her aid. Terrified and overwhelmed, she recalls pleading with him: “Just kill me, get it over with.”

Kyesha says she was left bruised and badly injured, with a bleeding mouth and part of a tooth missing. She alleges that Vicary refused to take her to hospital and that she remained at his home for three days before he finally drove her back. It took her several more days to find the courage to contact police. Vicary was arrested and initially denied the allegations, but later pleaded guilty at Truro Crown Court to one count of intentional strangulation and two counts of actual bodily harm. He was sentenced to 40 months in prison and given a 10-year restraining order. However, Kyesha says she was devastated to learn that he is expected to be released early next August under an early-release scheme. She says the experience has left her struggling with depression, nightmares and complex post-traumatic stress disorder. By sharing her story, she hopes others will recognize warning signs of abuse and seek help before a controlling relationship becomes life-threatening.
