THE PHONE CALL THAT MAY HAVE EXPOSED A SUSPECTED SERIAL KILLER
A chilling investigation in Poland has uncovered the disturbing case of a 43-year-old plumber accused of targeting elderly women—and investigators say his alleged crimes were finally exposed when one victim’s last moments were accidentally captured during a phone call.

Police have charged Michał P. with the alleged murders of six women, as well as a robbery that authorities say resulted in the death of a seventh woman in Warsaw. Investigators believe he used his profession as a plumber to gain access to the homes of elderly women living alone. He would allegedly return later under false pretenses before restraining the women and demanding their valuables.
According to investigators, the alleged attacks became increasingly disturbing. Police say some victims were reportedly suffocated after being robbed, while evidence found during the investigation has raised concerns that the number of potential victims could be higher than initially believed.
The breakthrough came in February 2025, when one elderly woman called her bank to change her card PIN. A bank employee reportedly remained on the phone as the woman was attacked. The employee allegedly heard what was happening and immediately contacted police.
Investigators say the entire incident was captured through the phone call. Officers rushed to the woman’s home, where they allegedly found Michał attempting to escape. He was arrested after reportedly fleeing onto a balcony below the victim’s apartment.
What investigators discovered afterward raised even more questions. Police reportedly seized around 75,000 images from Michał’s phone, including photographs of items and belongings inside elderly women’s homes. Some of the images have not yet been linked to the known victims, leading authorities to investigate whether additional deaths could be connected to him.

Authorities are also investigating several other deaths that had previously been considered natural. Prosecutors allege that Michał may have worked with accomplices in some attacks, while he is accused of acting alone in others.
For investigators, one of the most haunting aspects of the case is that the alleged killer may have remained undetected for years—until a routine phone call to a bank unexpectedly became a crucial piece of evidence.
How many victims could there really be? And what else might investigators discover in the thousands of images recovered from his phone?
