TEEN RUGBY PLAYER, 17, KILLED WHILE PLAYING PLAYSTATION — WOMAN ACCUSED OF HELPING THREE MEN ESCAPE
A quiet evening playing PlayStation with a friend turned into a devastating tragedy when a 17-year-old rugby player was allegedly confronted by a group of men who entered the house and launched a sudden attack.
Tristan Kerr, described as a talented young rugby player, was playing Fortnite at a friend’s home when three men allegedly burst into the property. Prosecutors told Newport Crown Court that the attack lasted less than two minutes — but ended with Tristan suffering a fatal stab wound.

Four people are now on trial over Tristan’s death. Connor Palfrey, 25, Georgie Mears, 19, Ricardo Elliot, 27, and alleged getaway driver Elexi Manny, 25, are all accused of murder. All four deny the allegation.
The prosecution claims the group arrived together and that two of the men were carrying weapons. Jurors heard that Mears allegedly rushed into the living room carrying a large knife and confronted Tristan, while Palfrey allegedly held a wooden stick with a nail through it.
Prosecutor Michael Jones KC told the court that the attack was “immediate and purposeful,” although the prosecution says the exact reason the men went to the house remains unknown.
In the chaos, Tristan managed to escape from the house with his friend Connor Davies. But witnesses described how the teenager quickly became weaker as they tried to get away.
According to the prosecution, Tristan eventually collapsed outside. His final moments were spent with his friend, to whom he reportedly expressed how much he cared about him before losing consciousness.
But the case has another disturbing element.

Prosecutors allege that after the attack, a woman named Elexi Manny helped the three men leave the area by driving them away. The court is now examining what each defendant allegedly knew, what role they played and why the group went to the property that night in the first place.
The trial is expected to last between four and six weeks, with jurors set to hear more evidence about the events inside the house, the movements of the accused and what happened immediately after Tristan was fatally injured.
Why did the group go to the house that night? Why was Tristan targeted while simply spending time with his friend? And what role did each person allegedly play in the moments before and after the attack?
