Fifteen Seconds on the Landslide: Bodycam Captures a Puppy’s Rescue From a Mountain Highway Wreck

October 19, 2026 — Chest-mounted bodycam footage timestamped 13:22:56 shows the moment a mountain rescue worker pulled a tiny brown-and-white puppy from the slippery rocks of a landslide-damaged highway construction site.
The scene is grim: a mountain road ripped apart by heavy rain, slopes of loose rock and mud, standing pools of cloudy blue-gray water, and excavators still clearing debris in the background. On a cluster of wet stones beside one of the pools sits the puppy — soaked light-brown fur clumped with mud, floppy wet ears, a white muzzle and a white stripe on her forehead, her large dark eyes fixed on the rescuer.
The worker, dressed in a beige mountain rescue jacket with black reinforced panels, thick black tactical gloves and a climbing harness with orange carabiners, kneels carefully on the uneven rocks. One gloved hand slides gently beneath the puppy’s chin and chest. The puppy blinks, lowers her ears, and lets out a faint whimper — but she doesn’t pull away.
With both hands supporting her chest, abdomen and hindquarters, the rescuer lifts her clear of the rocks. Water drips from her soaked fur as her muddy paws rise into the air. Slowly, the worker turns from the water’s edge and carries her toward a stable stretch of gravel near the orange-and-white construction barriers.
The final seconds show the puppy tucked securely against the rescuer’s chest, her expression already calmer as she looks up. Behind them, the damaged mountainside and yellow excavators keep working — but for one small life, the emergency is over.
