NEW JERSEY INSURANCE EXECUTIVE, WIFE AND DAUGHTER FOUND DEAD IN FAMILY HOME

A tragic discovery inside a suburban New Jersey home has left a family and community searching for answers. Authorities say an insurance executive, his wife and their adult daughter were all found dead inside their Montgomery Township residence last week.

The victims were identified as David Grodnick, 61, his wife Lora Grodnick, 62, and their 24-year-old daughter, Sloane Grodnick. Investigators believe David killed his wife and daughter before taking his own life, according to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office.

The discovery came after authorities received a request for a welfare check at the home on Oct. 1. Officers were initially unable to make contact with anyone inside. When authorities returned the following day and entered the residence, they found all three family members deceased in different rooms of the home.

Investigators have classified the deaths of Lora and Sloane as homicides and David’s death as a suicide. Authorities have not publicly revealed a motive for the tragedy, and the investigation remains ongoing. Officials have emphasized that they believe this was an isolated incident and that there is no continuing threat to the public.

David was a senior vice president and underwriting counsel at Land Services USA, while Sloane was a Princeton-area graduate who was pursuing a master’s degree at the Rhode Island School of Design. The family had also been longtime members of private country clubs in the area.

What happened inside the home before authorities arrived remains one of the biggest unanswered questions in the case.
